Sharmila Bhatia, Board of Director

Sharmila Bhatia served as Treasurer for SAA and the SAA Foundation from 2021-2024. Ms. Bhatia served as Vice President (2020-2021) and Director (2017-2020) for the Foundation. 

Ms. Bhatia joined the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) in 2001. She is a Senior Program Analyst in the Information Security Oversight Office.   

Before coming to NARA, Ms. Bhatia was a reference archivist at the South Carolina Department of Archives & History and a reference librarian at the Richland County Public Library (SC). She has a Master of Arts in public history and a Master of Library and Information Science from the University of South Carolina, and a Bachelor of Arts in history from the University of Maryland.
