Thesaurus for Use in College and University Archives is a set of 1,300 terms for use by any college or university archives in the United States for describing its holdings. The topical facets are academic affairs, administration, classes of persons, corporate culture, events, fields of study, history, infrastructure, sports, and student life. Included terms are generic and could apply to any college or university.
About the compiler/editor: Kate Bowers is Collections Services Archivist at the Harvard University Archives, where she has worked since 1996, first as curator for bibliographic control and special media, then as processing archivist. Before joining the University Archives, she worked in the Harvard Law School Library, at the Library of Congress Motion Picture Division, and at Tufts University Library. She is also adjunct faculty in the Archives Program at the Simmons College Graduate School of Library and Information Science.
