(Eliza )Beth Myers holds an MA and PhD from Loyola University Chicago in 20th Century US
History, with concentrations in women’s history, gender theory, and public history. Beth joined
Smith College in 2014 as Director of Special Collections, and previously held positions at the
Women and Leadership Archives in Chicago and the Walter Reuther Library, Archives of Labor
and Urban Affairs in Detroit. She served as a member of the SAA Foundation Board, 2021 -
2024; chaired the SAA A*Census II Working Group, 2020 - 2023; and in 2022 was named a
Distinguished Fellow of SAA. Myers’ past scholarship focused on feminist curation and the US
history of documenting women’s lives; current areas of interest include documenting women
globally and the psychology of donor relations.
