We are pleased to present the 2013-2014 slate of candidates for the Preservation Section leadership:
Cathy was named the Audiovisual and Image Archivist at the University of Florida (UF) Special and Area Studies Collection Department in August of 2012. Previously, she was the Preservation Officer for the UF Libraries for 14 years. She chaired numerous groups in the Preservation and Reformatting Section of the American Libraries Association including the Digital Preservation and Preservation Administrators Discussion Groups. She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1996 with her MLIS.
Angelina is the Digital Archivist at Rollins College in Winter Park, FL, where she is developing the library’s first digital preservation and electronic records management program. Prior to starting this position, she was a Preservation Specialist at the Northeast Document Conservation Center (NEDCC) for six years. Angelina received her MLIS from Simmons College, and has served as Co-Chair of the Preservation Section’s Education Committee and as a member of the Nominating Committee.
Katie is the Preservation Coordinator for the Library-Archives of the Wisconsin Historical Society. She previously worked as a conservator for the Indiana State Library and Archives. Katie joined the Preservation Section Steering Committee in 2011, as education committee co-chair. She holds an MSIS and advanced degree in Conservation from the University of Texas at Austin. Katie is excited about continuing to serve the preservation needs of archives through involvement in SAA Preservation Section Leadership.
Brian is an archives and preservation professional with extensive experience in developing research agendas and educational curricula in archives, preservation, and records management. For the past five years, he has been educating MLIS students (Pitt, UW Milwaukee), preparing them for professional jobs as archivists, librarians, and records managers. He has experience managing projects and conducting research in several areas, including archival preservation, cyberinfrastructure in archaeology, museum archives, cultural heritage and new media, and community non-profit organizations.
Jordan is Processing Archivist/Librarian for the Special Collections & Archives Department, George Mason University Libraries. Since 2008 he has managed the accessioning, processing, and preservation of the university archives and the historical manuscript collections. Prior to GMU, he worked as a processing archivist at The Catholic University of America Libraries. From 2007 to 2008, he served on the MARAC Ad Hoc Committee on Disaster Preparedness and Response. He holds a M.L.S from the University of Maryland, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in history at GMU.
Dyani, Preservation Specialist at the Conservation Center for Art & Historic Artifacts, works with cultural organizations to conduct various assessments and assist with preservation and emergency planning; she also helps develop and present educational programs. Feige is currently the Pennsylvania State Caucus Chair for MARAC, serves on the Advisory Committee for HCI-PSAR and the Steering Committee for AFR Philadelphia, and is also a member of ALA, SAA, and DVAG.
