2024 Preservation Section General Election results

As always, the steering committee would like to express our heartfelt thank you to all of you who voted in our annual election, particularly since this year included a special election as well. Thanks for being active Preservation Section members!

We are very excited to announce the results of this year's election: our new Vice Chair/Chair-Elect is Heather Hamilton, and our new Member-at-Large is Kelley Moulton.

Heather Hamilton is a paper conservator at the Harry Ransom Center at the University of Texas at Austin. She has been a conservator for 17 years, most of which have been in libraries and archives, including the Harvard Libraries and Texas State Library and Archives. She has an M.A. in Art Conservation with Certificate of Advanced Study from Buffalo State University. She is particularly interested in the overlapping goals of conservators and archivists, and she would look forward to working with SAA members to understand these commonalities even more.

Kelley Moulton is currently the Archivist and Special Collections Librarian at the University of Idaho. Prior to her position at the University of Idaho, she was the Regional History Librarian for the Community Library in Ketchum, Idaho where she was charged with preservation of archival materials, museum objects and artifact, and a historic house. In both of these positions, she has worked in a variety of conditions and deterioration across the scale as a result, something that was a growing period and in which SAA documents were of great use. Currently, she works to preserve and share mostly paper materials through processing and digitization work in collaboration with her colleagues. She enjoys learning and gaining knowledge from others with more experience in specific types of preservation and is interested in gaining experience working with the Preservation Section of SAA while becoming more involved in the group.

Thank you so much to our candidates and welcome to Heather and Kelley!
