July 8, 2019—The SAA Foundation Board awards grants that meet the mission and goals of the Foundation and/or SAA’s strategic planning priorities. Now in its fourth year of the program, the Foundation is pleased to announce the following awards:

After receiving an overwhelming response to this year’s call for volunteers, former SAA Vice President/President-Elect Michelle Light is pleased to announce the following appointments to SAA groups. With assistance from the 2019 Appointments Committee and consultation with appointed group leaders, Light completed the nearly 100 appointments in May.

June 28, 2019—The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) has announced that it is in the final stages of a records scheduling process with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for schedule DAA-0567-2015-0013, Detainee Records. The schedule, which covers records related to deaths of detainees and allegations of sexual assault and abuse of detainees, received a record number of public comments when initially released in 2017.
