Candidate Statement:
The work of the Women Archivists Section (WArS) is historic and significant. From the 2001/2002 Women in the Archival Profession survey and the 2017 WArS/SAA Salary Survey Report to current discussions of representation and inclusivity, WArS has paved the way for many of my colleagues to grow and flourish in the archives profession. I am interested in serving as the WArS interim Chair to help guide the Section and bring awareness to issues close to my heart, including impostor phenomenon, mental health awareness, and representation in the archival profession. It is vitally important to support our new and established colleagues in their evolving careers and support the efforts of those who wish to pursue leadership and advancement opportunities. WArS is a strong, supportive, and committed Section of archival professionals I would be honored to helm.
