- Annual Section Business Meeting: Scheduled for May 29th, 11 am PT/12 pm MT/1 pm CT/2 pm ET.
- Erinn forwarded meeting invite. SAA will publish a registration page for us
- Potential Speaker: Vina Begay from the Native American Archives section to present on implementing PNAAM in a public library setting. (20-30m talk)
- Eira will give us a general update
- Upcoming elections/appointments
- Rethinking standing rules
- Add roles to steering committee? I.e. content manager to help Aimai
- Events coordinator
- Do we need to change bylaws/standing rules? If we need to add language to it to add to steering committee: makes it hard to replicate templates, complicates elections. Introducing changes may prevent people from doing their work
- Might be easier to have the general at large roles, and the chair has discretion to say what they want roles to do
- Can see chair as a department head to see what projects people want to do this year
- Even upping number of appointees may complicate / necessitate updating standing rules - Requiring a lot of roles may lead to future struggles in filling those minimum roles (minimum # of people to run a section may be better) - hard to consistently
