The Finding Aid is the blog of the Public Library Archives/Special Collections Section of the Society of the American Archivists. The PLASC section serves to encourage advocacy for and education about archival, manuscript, local history, genealogy, and other historic and special collections within public libraries of all sizes.
The PLASC Section provides an arena for discussion and dissemination of best practices of the archives, library, museum, and history fields. It works to support the informational, historical, and cultural interests that converge in public library archives and special collections. Intended as a replacement for its past section newsletter, the FInding Aid blog will offer PLASC leadership and section members a more immediate means of publishing news items, project reports, articles, and generally enhance engagement with and among the section membership.
You can access the The Finding Aid blog here.
The PLASC Steering Committee is always looking for new article ideas, blog series ideas, or other contributions from PLASC members. If you have a piece you would like to publish or an idea for the blog, please contact the PLASC Steering Committee at publibarchives@gmail.com
