In attendance: Lauren Algee, Amy Cooper Cary, Patricia Delara, Suzanne Im.

Purpose of Meeting: Finalize membership survey, discuss lightning talk proposal selections for annual membership meeting.

1.  Membership survey

  • Additions to introductory statement: 

    • The survey is also targeting prospective members

    • Survey collection period: April 2 - 30, 2018

    • Chair Lauren Algee’s contact information in case of questions or issues

  • Question 11 

    • Steering committee settled on, “What are the top two ways in which public libraries contribute to the archival profession?” so that respondents will not be overwhelmed

  • Question 19 

    • Amy Cooper Cary suggested that we ask respondents to specify the types of efforts they would like PLASC to pursue with potential partners. Steering committee decided to add a free response question addressing this.

    • These questions will help the committee assess how aware members are of existing collaborations, as well as to prioritize partnership efforts

• Outlets for publicizing

  • Lauren Algee will mail the survey out to the PLASC listserv and the new SAA announcement listserv

2.  Membership meeting lightning talks

• Proposal Review and Selection

  • The membership meeting is 75 minutes long; there is enough time to hold 8-12 lightning talks

  • Lauren Algee will send out the results of the call for lightning talks to the Steering Committee on 04/02/2018

3.  Next meeting - early May 2018

• Steering committee to review membership survey

• Steering committee to determine how to analyze membership survey and assign tasks for doing so

• Suzanne Im will look into survey analysis tools available on Surveymonkey
