2016 MDOR Annual Meeting Agenda

Please join us in Atlanta for the Metadata and Digital Objects Roundtable annual meeting! Our agenda features presentations on exciting new work by two project teams. First, hear the newest developments from ePADD in their work to develop software for processing and accessing email archives. Then, get a preview of the forthcoming white paper from the Digital Public Library of America's Archival Description Working Group, and have the opportunity to weigh in on their recommendations for balancing aggregate and item-level approaches to description in shared systems. Hope to see you there!

In November 2015, Stanford University Libraries, along with partners at the New York Metropolitan Library Council (METRO), Harvard University, UC Irvine, and UI Urbana-Champaign, received a second round of grant funding to further develop the program’s scalability, usability, and feature set.

The ePADD team will provide an overview of the software, showcase features from the latest release, and answer questions about the project.

6:45-7:15pm Update from DPLA Archival Description Working Group and discussion

The Digital Public Library of America convened the Archival Description Working Group to address the challenges of integrating aggregate archival description with item-centric library metadata. The group has been exploring solutions to support varying approaches to digital object description and access, and will soon release a white paper.

The working group will present their findings thus far, and discuss their recommendations with the MDOR membership.
