Background/Acknowledgements

The initial Campus Case Studies resulted from a workshop attended by more than two dozen university archivists on “The Development of Case Studies for the Effective Management of University Digital Records.” The workshop was held at the University of Michigan Bentley Historical Library in September 2007 and was funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. The Campus Case Studies portal was launched with the support of the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.

In 2015, the focus of Campus Case Studies was expanded to include reports by university archivists who have created working solutions for a wide range of topics including managing born-digital records, collaborations with institutional repositories, and developing records management policies for an institution. Prospective content for Campus Case Studies is reviewed by the Society of American Archivists’ College & University Archives Section and the Publications Board.
