Katie Pierce Meyer is a librarian, archivist and architectural historian. She is the Head of Architectural Collections at the University of Texas at Austin. Pierce Meyer received her B.A. in Philosophy from Southwestern University and her M.A. in Architectural History and M.S. and PhD in Information Studies from the University of Texas at Austin. Her research focuses on the co-construction of the built environment and the preservation of architectural artifacts as traces of socio-technical networks. She has been supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) as a Doctoral Preservation Fellow.
Katie has published on technology and artifacts in architectural practice, preserving born-digital architectural records, archival education, and faculty perceptions on library collections. She has been invited to speak at national and international symposia, including Designing the Future Landscape: Digital Architecture, Design and Engineering Assets (2017) at the Library of Congress and an International Confederation of Architectural Museums virtual panel on digital archives (2020).
