Description: Join us IF YOU DARE! The Women's Museum of California is on the move! After 16 years in one small location and 15 years in the founder’s home, we are moving to a new, larger location, which will more than double our archive and exhibition space. We are scheduled to move on August 15, which means we have been pulling out 30 years of materials, many things never before seen by current staff. Our Archive Room is pretty much intact and still looks good according to our new Collections Manager, Bonnie Domingos. What you will see is a museum dealing with making decisions about what goes and what doesn’t to the new space. This experience has provided us with inspiration for future exhibits and events. We welcome your visit to our chaos. It will be great for anyone planning a move. We are located at the corner of 23rd and Broadway, about 5 minutes from Balboa Park.
Directions: By public transportation. Walk from the hotel to the 12th and Imperial Transit Center. Take the Blue Line light rail toward Old Town. Exit at the City College Trolley Station. Pick up the #2 bus toward North Park. Exit the bus at Broadway and 22nd St. The museum is at 2323 Broadway.
The Women's Museum of California is a 1.5 mile walk from the conference hotel. [Note: There is an uphill climb on this walk.] Cross the pedestrian bridge toward Petco Park. Turn right on Park Blvd. Bear right onto K St. Turn left onto 14th. Turn right onto Broadway. The museum is on the right at 2323 Broadway.
