Call for Volunteers: SAA-ACRL/RBMS Joint Task Force to Revise Statement on Access to Research Materials

August 17, 2017—SAA and the Association of College and Research Libraries/Rare Books and Manuscripts Section have agreed to reconvene a joint task force to revise the SAA-ACRL/RBMS Joint Statement on Access to Research Materials in Archives and Special Collections.

For this revision cycle, the joint task force is asked to recommend any revisions that would bring the statement up to date, with a particular focus on born-digital materials and procedures for documenting the existence of research materials. The task force will comprise six members (three representing SAA and three representing ACRL/RBMS) charged to complete a new revision of the joint statement by August 2019.
