Danielle Hall, MLS
University Records Manager | Assistant Professor
Morse Department of Special Collections | Kansas State University Libraries
As mandated by state statute and policy, I fulfill the role of the university's records officer, overseeing compliance with access restrictions on both active and inactive records in accordance with the Kansas Open Records Act, K.S.A. 45-215 et seq. In addition to this regulatory responsibility, I take the lead in establishing program priorities and crafting policies, procedures, and standards to streamline records information management (RIM) processes. I am the chair for the University Records and Information Management Committee (RIMC), steering its efforts towards effective RIM implementation. Furthermore, I provide assistance to the University Archivist in addressing reference, outreach, and processing requirements for the university archives. Some of my current projects consist of creating a university wide “Using Generative AI with University-Owned Records and Data Policy”, being a key member of a university wide shared drive clean-up, cleaning up and re-organizing the library intranet platform, and creating records management training opportunities.
