Nominations sought for SAA Oral History Section elections

The Oral History Section Steering Committee is seeking nominations for the 2018-2019 Oral History Section election through Tuesday, May 22. Serving on the Oral History Steering Committee is a great way to meet new colleagues and become more involved in the work of the Society of American Archivists.

Positions currently open for nomination include:

Vice Chair/Chair-Elect

* Provides support to help fulfill the duties and responsibilities of the Chair as assigned

* Operates as acting Chair in the absence of the Chair

* 3 year term (first year as Vice Chair/Chair-Elect, second as Chair; a third year as Past Chair)

Steering Committee Members

* Provide leadership to and share information with section members

* Identify and appoint ex officio members to the steering committee

* Solicit input from members

* Assist with the organization of the section's annual meeting and section elections

Newsletter Editor

* Solicit and edit news, articles, and other pieces for the online section newsletter

* Ensure that the newsletter is loaded into the section’s microsite

The Oral History Section encourages nominations from eligible members. No experience in oral history is required to be nominated, but to be considered eligible, individuals must be members of the Oral History Section and members of SAA in good standing. 

To nominate yourself or someone else, please contact Mary Larson (mary.larson@okstate.edu) by May 22. Nominated individuals will be contacted after May 22 to submit a candidate statement by May 29.
