MDOS Newsletter - January 2023

Greetings from MDOS and Happy New Year!

MDOS had their first meeting this week. We are excited to announce that for January we have planned three focus group meetings for the Re-Envisioning MDOS initiative in which 12 information professionals who work with digital objects agreed to take part. The goals and objectives of the meetings are to:

define MDOS topics and discuss how they might overlap with other SAA sections;
outline strategies of how to attract more members and improve engagement with the group;
identify gaps in knowledge that aren’t covered by other sections;
understand which professional resources and technologies might be included under the MDOS educational resources.

Prior to the meeting each focus group participant needs to sign a consent form. All focus group sessions will be recorded, transcribed, and analyzed by the MDOS steering committee and results will be shared with the section membership.

Here is the focus group schedule:

Weds., 1/18: 12-2 pm EST
Thurs., 1/26: 1:30-3:30 pm EST
Fri., 1/27: 1-3 pm EST
