Dear colleagues,
We will be holding the 2023 Local Government Records Section election soon!
Thank you so much to our excellent candidate for standing in the election. Please take some time to review their candidate statement so you can get to know them.
You will be voting for:
Sophia McGuire
Records Management Analyst
City of Gahanna, Ohio
Candidate Bio: Sophia has been in the records & archives field since 2010, beginning her work as a student assistant in the Rare Books & Manuscripts Library at Ohio State. In 2013 Sophia pursued an MLIS at the University of Pittsburgh, with a focus in Archives & Records Management. Since then, Sophia has worked in a variety of capacities as a records manager & archivist, primarily in government records. Her work has encompassed policy development, building moves, education, RIM system migrations, and so much more! She currently works for the City of Gahanna as the Council Office’s Records Management Analyst, where she is working on the city’s first formal records management policy manual.
Candidate Statement: Although I am new to the Local Government section, I am very familiar with the issues local government records managers & archivists face, with eight years in the field. If elected to a position within the LGRS, my goals would be to encourage engagement, connect the group with resources, and assist with the anticipated LGRS/GS merger for a smooth transition. I appreciate the opportunity to serve the local government records community!
