Land Recognition
As many of us are settlers, immigrants or descendants of those forcefully brought to this land it is our collective responsibility to pay respect and recognize that this land is the traditional territory of the Piscataway and related Algonquin Aboriginal Communities and we are here because this land was occupied. Please take a moment to consider the many legacies of violence, displacement, migration, and settlement that bring us here today.

Election: Diverse Sexuality & Gender Section Survey
What would you like from this section in the future?
- I'd like to see more communication and dialogue amongst us.
- More focus on diverse sexuality-related archival collections and less on personal politics...Is there a way to focus more on collections, community, and issues of a broader nature vis-a-vis the profession?
- The thing I value the most about the the Diverse Sexuality and Gender Section (DSGS) of the Society of American Archivists is that the listserv functions as a forum for discussing and promoting LGBTQIA+ collections, processing concerns, and population engagement. However, I would like members (including me) to be more active and engaged with DSGS.
- A place to feel at home is really valuable, and appreciated.
- I value the multitude of perspectives on various issues that affect how diverse sexuality and gender are represented in archival work the most.
- Community building and action.
- Do we sponsor any paper or pop up sections at SAA?
- Having the opportunity to connect and learn from others who deal with collections that focus on diverse populations.
