Old Business:

 

  1. Review Student Labor theme work (Rebecca and others): next steps discussed; emails to follow.

 

  1. SAA microsite’s meeting minutes? (Ellen): update: Sept, Oct, Nov, Dec short versions for web are on microsite and available for public viewing. EE confirmed with SAA that these are publicly accessible and viewable to more than SAA membership.

 

     3. This year’s section theme

    1. Discussed drafted message to members, and the leading ideas. The group agreed to move forward with the theme of campus histories in terms of town-gown relationship, inclusive histories, and contested places or narratives. EE will develop the theme and send out request to membership on what project or outcome would be of interest to them.

 

 

New Business?: We discussed how we and our members might contribute to SAA’s Comm. on Education’s efforts to widen teaching/learning. Ben will discuss with Rana Hutchinson Salzmann and we will work further on ideas.

 

Council Update (Petrina): Petrina is meeting in February with the Comm. on Education. Is there a way that we steering committee can encourage our membership to propose teaching potential workshops?

 

Academic Archivist blog and Campus Case Studies update: all are invited to suggest ideas or content.
