In October, Subcommittee Chairs should develop a publicity plan with Subcommittee Members that includes the following:
- Create promotional information about the awards being given:
- Brief description of each award (name, eligibility criteria, application requirements)
- A direct link to the Awards and Scholarships webpage
- The deadline to apply (February 28)
- Discuss dates when you will promote and if/when you will push reminder posts or emails.
- Consider creating a spreadsheet or list of all the places that the awards will be promoted and who will be responsible for sharing. Some ideas include:
- Create graphics or images that you want to include for your publicity
- The SAA Logo is available for advertising and publicizing awards - contact SAA Staff for images and branding information
- Create simple social media graphics, if desired
- Discuss possible applicants that Subcommittee Members can identify and encourage them to self-nominate
- Discuss a plan if Awards Committee Co-Chairs and SAA staff report low application numbers in February and a strategy for how to increase award nominations.
