Annual Meeting of the Archival History Section

The Archival History Section will hold its annual meeting during the ARCHIVES*RECORDS 2021 conference via Zoom on Monday, July 26, 2021 at 11:00 am-12:30 pm CT (beginning 12:00 pm EST, 10:00 am MT, 9:00 am PT). Participation is free for anyone interested in the history of archives, whether you are registered for the Society of American Archivists’ conference or not. Highlights of this year’s meeting include an introduction by Steven D. Booth & Brenda Gunn of their Archival Revolutions project, the presentation of the Archival History Article Award, as well as guest presentations on the documentation of present and past pandemics.

As our guest speakers we are delighted to welcome J. Alexander Navarro, Ph.D. (Assistant Director, Center for the History of Medicine, University of Michigan), who will speak about The Past as Prologue: Lessons of the 1918 Influenza Pandemic and Sarah M. Allison (Head of Archives User Engagement, Archives and Special Collections department, Ball State University), whose presentation will focus on Community Collaboration and Documenting a Pandemic.
