Archival History News Call for Editor(s)

 

The Archival History Section seeks an editor(s) to assist in the production of Archival History News (https://archivalhistorynews.wordpress.com/). 

Founded in 1986 as the Archival History Roundtable, the AHS advocates for and promotes an understanding of the history of the American archival profession.  Archival History News has cultivated an international online readership interested in the people, events, and literature central to the history of our profession. 

The newsletter Editor(s) will be appointed to a one-year term, beginning as early as May 2018 through August 2019. In partnership with the AHS steering committee, the editor's duties will include:

  • Refining the online presence of Archival History News, an online-only newsletter published in October, January, and May of each year
  • Identifying and soliciting appropriate posts (i.e. news and announcements, book reviews, updates and photos of AHS Annual Meeting, information about upcoming conferences and publication opportunities, remembrances, and oral interviews
  • Editing and proofreading new content (within 45 days of original submission
  • Facilitating the social media strategy for the newslette
  • Add new Archival History News pages to the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine after each new release
