Awards

The Society of American Archivists is proud to celebrate the accomplishments of our members and friends of the archives profession. Each year SAA actively seeks nominations for its Awards and Scholarships Program, which consists of 22 awards, scholarships, and the naming of Fellows. These recognitions—several of which are named for pioneers in the American archives field—honor individuals and institutions for outstanding contributions to the archives profession; creativity and innovation in approaching professional challenges; contributions to advancing diversity and inclusion within the profession; leadership; and superior achievement in the areas of advocacy and public awareness and writing and publishing.

In addition, SAA awards scholarships that recognize individuals’ potential and represent an investment in the future of our profession.

For 2021 we received 140 award nominations—truly a testament to the many individuals and institutions that represent the best and brightest in our field.

Although SAA typically recognizes award winners from the podium at live Annual Meeting events, for this virtual conference we pay tribute to their achievements via the videos, photos, and descriptions presented on the conference Awards page. Please take time to watch, listen, read—and applaud!—your colleagues’ outstanding achievements!
