Dr. Richard W. Oram was Associate Director & Hobby Foundation Librarian of the Harry Ransom Center, University of Texas at Austin, from 1991 to 2015. He received his B.A. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, his Ph.D. in English from Cornell University, and his M.L.I.S from the University of Texas at Austin. He has published more than 25 articles on literature, history, and special collections and is the co-editor of two books on the publishing firm of Knopf, Inc. and Anglo-American writers’ libraries. Oram is a former chair of the Rare Books and Manuscript Section (RBMS) of the Association of College and Research Libraries.
