Laura Uglean Jackson is archives and special collections librarian at the University of Northern Colorado where she plays a central role in collections management, processing, and archives technical services.
Prior, Laura was assistant university archivist in the Special Collections and Archives Department at the University of California, Irvine from 2014 to 2017. Laura began her archives career at the American Heritage Center, University of Wyoming, on a grant-funded reappraisal and deaccessioning project, in which 444 collections were reappraised and 343 deaccessioned. From 2009 to 2012, she chaired the Reappraisal and Deaccessioning Development and Review Team to create guidelines for reappraising and deaccessioning archival collections.
She is originally from Colorado and has a BA in Art History from Colorado State University and an MLIS from Simmons College.
