John is the audio-visual archivist at the American Heritage Center, the archive of the University of Wyoming. He started his career at the AHC as a faculty archivist in the fall of 2001 and currently holds the rank of associate archivist. He maintains the audio-visual collections, he assists patrons with a/v and photo needs, and he fulfills audio-visual and photo requests. Among his other duties at the AHC, John works in the Reference Department and assists patrons with their reference needs, and he acts as the map specialist.
He is active in the Association of Moving Image Archivists (AMIA), the international professional organization for audio-visual archivists.
John holds a B.A. degree from the University of Wyoming in Education and Geography (1995), and his M.A., also from University of Wyoming, is in geography (2001.) He regularly presents to students and community groups on various subjects ranging from audio-visual topics to historic map and transportation presentations.
