Georgina Tom is the Archivist for 'Iolani School, an independent, K-12 college preparatory school, and is responsible for all aspects of the archival program. As a member of the DAS Class of 2015 she was in the third group of archivists to attain the DAS, and was fortunate to move through the program with wonderful colleagues as the first group in the state of Hawai'i.
She uses her past experiences in public relations, education, museum studies and collections, and academic reference librarianship to feed her archival practice.
She has served on the SAA Digital Archives Specialist Subcommittee (Committee on Education) which is charged with creating and maintaining curriculum for the professional development certification program; is a past board member of the Association of Hawai'i Archivists; and, recipient of the SAA 2022 Spotlight Award.
She earned a graduate certificate in Museum Studies and a master of Library and Information Science with a specialization in Archives and Special Collections from the University of Hawai'i.
