November 5, 2018—At its November 2-3 meeting, the SAA Council created a standing Committee on Research, Data, and Assessment whose principal charge is to “provide access to significant and useful data and research about SAA, American archives, and their users that evidence the value of archives for society and help us improve our services to SAA members and to our consumers." The Council seeks volunteers for this nine-member committee.
How has SAA touched your life? Perhaps you’ve been inspired after hearing from innovative archivists at an Annual Meeting, learned practical skills in an education course that helped you become more effective in your job, found and connected with colleagues around the country on a section discussion list, or gained new perspectives from reading an article in American Archivist. SAA remains a vibrant and relevant organization because members contribute their time and expertise to benefit the profession.
The Tragedy Response Initiative Task Force for the Society of American Archivists is requesting your help to provide examples of collecting responses to tragic events.
