June 4, 2020—LYRASIS has developed a survey to determine archival collecting practices during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Thank you for your interest in the project—your support is critical to understanding the needs of archives, and supporting the field during this crisis!
June 2, 2020—We, the Council of the Society of American Archivists, unanimously condemn harassment and violence against the Black community. As archivists, we learn from history that this country was founded on genocide and slavery. We continue to witness the legacy of this history with systemic and structural racism that lead to marginalization, disenfranchisement, and death. The murder of George Floyd, and countless others, at the hands of the police manifest the continuing atrocities faced by Black Americans today.
Like many organizations, SAA has been financially affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. To best navigate this difficult time, the May/June 2020 issue of Archival Outlook will not be distributed in print. As always, the digital editions of Archival Outlook are open access. Love what you’ve read?
