Title of Influential American Archivist Article: "Dear Mary Jane: Some Reflections on Being an Archivist"
Author(s) of Article: John A. Fleckner
Volume and Date: 54:1 (Winter 1991)
How has this article influenced you as an archivist?
John Fleckner didn't influence me to do any aspect of my work differently, nor did he help me see it in a different way. Rather, as seems appropriate for an archivist who preserves the existing record, he reminded—and, in so doing, inspired and reinvigorated—me to recall what attracted me to the profession and why what we do matters, what it is that we "profess" as a profession. I don't know if his words speak as effectively to persons entering the profession a generation or two after he and I did, but a literature that speaks increasingly to the "how" aspects of the field still needs to consider the "why" as well.
“Dear Mary Jane” by John A. Fleckner sounds like an engaging article, especially with its personal connection to David Klaassen. The way you write this novel is a true example of the art of writing. I appreciate you for writing this beautiful novel. When I was in college, my writing skills were not good, so I mostly gave my tasks to essay help, and they completed my work. After completing my college, I started reading novels, and now I am a good writer and have polished my skills by reading books or novels.

I really like the emphasis on remembering why we choose a profession, not just how we do the work. That perspective can keep people motivated even after many years in the field. The same idea applies to everyday decisions too whether it's choosing professional resources or making online purchases, I try to make informed choices and even look for a promo code UK when buying books or study materials.
