August 23, 2023—At this year's Joint Annual Meeting of SAA and CoSA in Washington, DC, the SAA Preservation Section raised $4,440 for the National Disaster Recover Fund for Archives (NDRFA) through their annual silent auction.
Each year, the silent auction is held through the generosity of those who donate items for the auction, place bids during the meeting, and help spread the word. The Preservation Section extends their thanks to everyone who contributed to this year's auction, with special thanks to the auction table volunteers, the SAA Foundation, and the SAA staff.
The NDRFA was established in 2005 after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. The fund supports the recovery of archival collections from major disasters, regardless of region or repository type. Learn more about the NDRFA here.
If you would like to help your colleagues by donating to the National Disaster Recovery Fund for Archives, you can still do so by visiting the SAA Foundation Online Donation Form.
