Ask the Senate to Fund NHPRC!

You Can Help Save NHPRC From Elimination!

On June 11, the House Appropriations Committee approved a funding bill providing $10 million for the NHPRC, $8 million for grants and $2 million for administrative expenses.

The Senate Financial Services and General Government appropriations subcommittee is currently drafting its version of the appropriations bill that includes funding for NHPRC. Now is the critical time to contact members of this subcommittee and make your voice heard to help save the NHPRC! Urge your Senators to, at a minimum, fund the NHPRC at a similar level as the House Appropriations Committee.

Phone calls to your Senator’s offices are also effective, particularly if you ask for the person who handles appropriations issues. All Members of Congress can be reached through the Capitol switchboard at 202-224-3121.

The NHPRC is the only grant making organization, public or private, whose mission is to provide national leadership in the effort to promote the preservation and accessibility of historical records and to publish the papers of significant figures and themes in American history.

If Congress allows the NHPRC to be zeroed out of the federal budget, this important program, which has played an essential federal leadership role and has an outstanding success record of using a small amount of federal funds to leverage other contributions, would come to an end. This would be devastating to projects editing and publishing the papers of nationally significant individuals and institutions; the development of new archival programs; the promotion of the preservation and use of historical records; regional and national coordination in addressing major archival issues; and a wide range of other activities relating to America's documentary heritage.

Please take a minute to send this letter to the your Senators and let them know how vital the NHPRC is to the historical and archival communities. If your Senator is a member of the Financial Services and General Government Appropriations' Subcommittee, the Cap Wiz system will recognize your zip code and send them a specially targeted message. Without your help today, the NHPRC may be eliminated!

A mate told me to download

A mate told me to download the spinbet app when I complained about how slow other betting apps are in New Zealand. At first, I was hesitant, but after a few days of using it, I gotta say—it’s way more stable and user-friendly than I expected. The app loads fast, and I didn’t get any annoying glitches. Honestly, it’s nice to have something that just works without driving me nuts every time I want to place a quick bet.
