SNAP Steering Committee 2021-2022

Meeting #9: 9 June 2022

Time: 7pm Eastern; 6pm Central; 5pm Mountain; 4pm Pacific

Attendance via Zoom: Marissa Friedman (co-chair), River Freemont (secretary), John Esh (steering committee/web liaison), Nicole Font (social media), Alexis Bracey (junior blog editor), Karlie Herndon (student chapter coordinator)

1. Chair/Vice-Chair updates
   

   1. Elections!

      1. Michelle and Marissa are working on the call for nominations.

      2. Election results will be announced after the annual meeting.

   2. Annual meeting

      1. July 15th, 2022 at 2pm Eastern (11am Pacific).

      2. Michelle and Marissa will go over the highlights of the year, and hopefully the Muppets archivist will be the feature.

      3. Webinars were one of the big successes of the year! Everyone is welcome to organize one before the annual meeting, if you are interested. We have nothing planned for the moment.

   3. Survey data

      1. SAA’s Dataverse would like to collect any data we’ve collected as a section. Marissa is going to go over the most recent survey from 2020 or 2021 and see if that’s something we might be interested in. For the future, the survey collaboration planned with the Archival Workers Collective will yield some data we might want to share as well.

2. Programming updates
   

   1. Joint webinar with the Business Archives Section went really well! There were 111 attendees at peak, and a very cool show-and-tell portion.

   2. A blog post for the webinar will go up soon.

3. Social media
   

   1. No updates.

4. Blog team
   

   1. Call will go out soon for Pride and Juneteenth-themed blog posts. Additionally, if you have an idea for a post on any other topic(s), let Leah know!

5. Student chapters
   

   1. No updates.

6. Next meeting
   

   1. TBD

      1. Marissa will ask Michelle whether she would like to hold a regular meeting prior to the annual meeting. Our next regular meeting would be on July 7, 2022 at 7pm Eastern (4pm Pacific).
