1. Webinar recaps

a. Kudos to Marissa, Lourdes, John, and Nicole for their work on the two recent webinars (“SAA Resume Review” and “An Intro to ArchivesSpace”). At highest count, there were 119 attendees at the ArchivesSpace webinar!

b. Notes going forward:

i. See “START KIT” in the “Programming” folder for everything you’ll need to organize a webinar. Also in that folder are recent webinar recordings and chat transcripts.

ii. A SNAP YouTube channel is in the works! Michelle is gathering webinar videos for Matt at SAA to upload when it’s ready. If you know of any webinar recordings that should be added to that channel, pass them along to Michelle.

2. Blog update

a. Leah mentioned that the blog hasn’t received any submissions since she posted a CFP last week. On the upside, there has been a lot of blog activity lately (mostly related to our webinar series).

b. Michelle mentioned the idea of a “Ask AOTUS” blog post. What questions do we have for the outgoing Archivist of the United States? Michelle knows him and believes he would be willing to answer some questions via email.

i. Topics discussed include LOC Accessibility Division, changes during tenure such as digitization, and Archivists’ Task Force on Racism Report to the Archivist (available at https://www.archives.gov/files/news/archivists-task-force-on-racism-report.pdf).

ii. Get your questions for AOTUS to Michelle!

c. Michelle made some adjustments to the blog navigation

d. We have a new student chapter blog post template that needs finalizing (find that in the “Student Chapters” folder, under “Blog Series”). We can share this template with Rutgers and UTK and incorporate their feedback into revision.

3. Elections

a. We need to update our call for nominations and nomination form.

b. There’s a new elections page on the blog! Michelle would like everyone to review and let her know of any additions or changes they make.

4. SNAP Section annual meeting

a. Date and time are set for Friday, July 15, 11am Pacific, 2pm Eastern.

b. Michelle suggested a presentation by folks at the Jim Henson Archives, and, given the group’s enthusiastic response, will reach out to her contacts there.

5. SAA Membership Committee

a. Michelle and Marissa met with the Membership Committee and accepted a SNAP seat on the Membership Committee, which meets once a month. They meet on the fourth Thursday of the month at 3pm Eastern.

i. Michelle or Marissa will attend the first meeting, then attendance will be open to volunteers until Marissa decides how she’d like to organize this participation going forward.

6. AWE Fund/AWC collaboration

a. The AWE Fund is now the Archival Workers Collective!

b. They would like to develop a survey for students, looking at labor, internships, and the effects of the pandemic.

i. Nicole and River are interested in helping with this project.

ii. Cheers to Marissa for forming this relationship with AWC!

7. Graduate Archival Education Subcommittee (of SAA Education Committee)

a. They are interested in working with SNAP to develop Internship Best Practice Guidelines.

i. Nicole volunteered to take the lead on this project.

8. Upcoming webinar

a. “Corporate Employment” with the Business Archives Section! Tentatively scheduled for May 4th. Michelle and Marissa are working on finalizing everything.

9. Next meeting

a. May 5, 2022, 7pm Eastern; 6pm Central; 5pm Mountain; 4pm Pacific.
