Candidate Information for the 2014 STHC Roundtable Elections

In this election we will choose the new Junior Co-Chair of the STHC Roundtable, to take office following the August 2014 annual meeting.  Electronic voting will begin in July and will be conducted by SAA staff. Election results will be announced at the annual meeting.
The Junior Co-Chair is elected annually by the roundtable membership, to serve a two-year term: serving in year one as Junior Co-Chair, and in year two as Senior Co-Chair. The Junior Co-Chair records minutes for steering committee and annual meetings, develops the program portion of annual roundtable meeting, and assists the Senior Co-Chair with other tasks.

Nora Murphy
Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Archives and Special Collections

Nora Murphy is Archivist for Reference, Instruction and Outreach in the Institute Archives and Special Collections where she has worked since 2000. Nora facilitates access to MIT’s rich historical collections to MIT students, faculty, staff and alums, and to outside scholars, exploring all aspects of MIT’s past. She leads instruction classes for MIT courses in history, science writing, architecture, music and Science, Technology and Society, and gives presentations on MIT’s history using the unique documentary materials in the care of the Institute Archives and Special Collections.

 

 

 


 

Eleanor Brown
Special Collections Research Center, North Carolina State University

Eleanor Brown (Eli) serves as Head of the Special Collections Research Center at North Carolina State University, leading a program that supports research, teaching and learning with rich primary resources. Prior to joining NCSU Libraries in November 2011, she was Assistant Director for Programs and Services in the Division of Rare and Manuscript Collections, as well as Curator of Media and Digital Collections at Cornell University Library. In these roles she oversaw archival processing, access to and preservation of electronic and born digital records, the Division’s public services and permission services. At Cornell, Eli previously served as Head of Program and Project Management and as Technical and Digital Services Archivist. Earlier she held a series of positions at the National Archives of Canada including Photo Archivist, project Officer and Project Coordinator for the Canadian Memory Digital Access projects.
