Beth Cron and Courtney Bailey had a good conversation with Seth Shaw and Jeremy Gibson about open source records management tools. If you didn’t have a chance to join, you can view it here.
On February 8, the Records Management Section hosted a Hangout with Snowden Becker of the UCLA Department of Information Studies to discuss law enforcement body-worn camera footage and recordings. If you missed the Hangout, you can watch the recorded version here. In addition, Snowden prepared some additional readings on her website.
When I first started taking photography more seriously as a hobby, shutter speed was one of the things that confused me the most. It sounds simple at first, but when you start photographing moving subjects, night scenes, or even just trying to avoid blur, you realize how important it actually is. In the beginning I often experimented blindly with settings until I gradually started understanding what works in different situations. At some point I came across a helpful guide online, and the canon shutter speed chart in that article made things much clearer for me because it visually explains which shutter speeds are typically used for different types of shots.
