Updates

Newsletter, Patricia Delara - publishing weds. January 8th, DM and JR wanted to assist in drafting and editing. It has been decided thus far to used a more Informal structure rather than official editor roles.  We have had one submission - an announcement about recently digitized materials. Newsletter ready to go. It would be great to feature someone who submits an announcement, event or news item in each newsletter.

Social Media, Dylan Gaffney and Derek Mosley - established new twitter schedule to try to increase social media presence. Dylan will take Tuesday & Thursday, Derek Mon & Fri with Weds. as floating day. These days would be assigned to keep any out for content and posts to highlight, retweet or to announce and promote PLASC section news like newsletter or events. All members encouraged to post or recommend posts whenever possible.

Website, Johanna Russ - All previous meeting minutes added to microsite. Officers should test access to microsite to be sure it is up to date and available.

Survey Working Group, Catherine Oseas & Heather Lanctot - Planning stages. Divided work into sections - Looking at what resources are already available to avoid duplication and update out of date materials, building a preliminary list of listservs to push survey out to when ready. Catherine developing questions for survey. New folder in PLASC google drive called Survey Research containing

PLASC Survey Questions

Outline of Survey Questions

As a full group we should look at timeline and see if further assistance is needed from other officers. Patricia will add previous California survey to folder as another example to inform our work..

Discussion Items

Advocacy Toolkit - can members access, is it useful?

SAA 2020 - who will be there, should we have a table at the event for outreach and awareness?

Newsletters will come out seasonally. A spring issue would come out in approximately April. CIf newsletter comes out in time, put in a call for Western Roundup. Specific call for 19th amendment related submissions, highlighting what folks are doing tied to the anniversary.
