Meeting Minutes

In attendance: Lauren Algee, Amy Cooper Cary, Suzanne Im, Angela Stanley.

Purpose of Meeting: Draft membership survey and brainstorm internal needs.

1.  Survey. The Steering Committee walked through its membership survey notes to create a first draft. The Committee will go through it again at the next meeting with the intention of creating a final draft. Algee assigned Committee members homework to peruse the relevant surveys below before the next meeting:

• 2013 PLASC membership survey

• OCLC's The State of Digitization in US Public and State Libraries

• Educopia's Self-Identified Library, Archives, and Museum Professional Development Needs 2016 Edition

• Cary will inquire if any data from the current SAA Membership Committee's survey about professional development needs can be consulted

2.  Internal needs of PLASC 

• Meeting minutes will be saved in a shared Google Drive folder and linked on the PLASC microsite under "About." 

• Im will write up a brief summary of the Committee’s plans for this year to be posted on the PLASC microsite under Announcements/News.

• Additional items to be discussed at the next meeting.

3.  Meeting frequency

• The Steering Committee decided to continue meeting on a monthly basis.
