7 April Steering Committee meeting

Alison, Ashley, Elisa, Jillian, Jackie

Absent: Rory, Lori, Anke, Sean

Elections: Jackie will follow up with Anke to see where we are or if any assistance is needed.

Newsletter: six submissions, we received two from one institutions, will hold the second. Jackie will send Ashley a “From the Chair” early next week.

Annual meeting program:

We discussed a proposed structure for the meeting:

Business meeting/liaison reports: 20 minutes

Report from the TPS unconference (who could give the report? Lori? *Jackie will find someone): 10 minutes

Program: 45 minutes, 3 presenters at 10 to 15 minutes

Kelly Wooten is interested in participating in our program; she has provided information on how she put together the zine.

*Alison will ask Kelly if she is okay with doing a 15-20 minute presentation.

Determined from our initial survey that Bethany Fietcher at Indiana State and Liz Ott at UNC have developed tools handwriting help. Other respondents pointed to existing tools that they use or expressed interest in helping develop one with us.

*Alison will ask Bethany Fiechter if she’d like to participate.

*Jackie will ask Liz Ott.

We’ll ask if they can let us know by April 21st.

*Jackie will look into the possibility of skyping in participants. If neither Bethany or Liz can participate, we can solicit participants from the list.
