IAAS's Final Archival Vistas Briefings Seminar of the Season on July 10

Dear SAA members! 

I am thrilled to announce the final Archival Vistas Briefings Seminar for the 2024-2025 season from the International Archival Affairs Section (IAAS). 

As you might recall, the Archival Vistas Briefings virtual program series began in 2023 and discusses a topic or theme of international focus. The theme for 2024-2025 is archival standards and how we experience and use them. In each seminar, an international guest speaker(s) introduces attendees to how they have interacted with a particular standard, and shares their aspirations, implementation, and development experience with the standard. For this 3^rd Archival Vistas Briefings seminar, we are excited to welcome Florence Clavaud and Carina McDowell. They will be discussing their work using the International Council on Archives (ICA) Records in Contexts (RiC). This online seminar is scheduled for Thursday, the 10th of July 2025, from 10:30am – 11:30am EDT. 

Florence Clavaud is a General Curator and the Head of the Lab at the Archives nationales de France, as well as an executive member of ICA / EGAD and lead of the RiC-O development team. She will be sharing her own experiences with RiC-Ontology at the Archives nationales de France.

Carina McDowell is an archivist working for Library and Archives Canada as a part of the Archival Information Revitalization Initiative (AIRI) and is also a member of ICA / EGAD. She will be discussing her experience mapping RiC to an existing standard as part of the work her institution is undertaking to transform their archival information system (AIS).
