IAAS's Final Archival Landscapes Seminar of the Season on August 21: Perú

Dear SAA members!

I am thrilled to announce the final Archival Landscapes Seminar for the 2024-2025 season from the International Archival Affairs Section (IAAS).

As you might recall, the Archival Landscapes virtual seminar series began in 2020. In each seminar, an international guest speaker introduces participants to the issues and advancements in their local context, describing the history, operating environment and unique aspects of archival practice in their country. Past series' programs can be viewed here:

Join IAAS members as we welcome Dora Alicia Palomo Villanueva, Coordinator of the Pontifical Catholic University of Perú, and Laura Yturbe Mori, General Archive of the Nation of Perú, Records Management Specialist. Our Peruvian colleagues will offer attendees "a historical overview of the Archivo General de la Nación del Perú, emphasizing the foundational role of Guillermo Durand in the organization of the national archival system." Their summary also "refers to national and international professional archival associations, outlines the evolution of archival education and professional training in the country, and describes recent changes in archival legislation and regulatory frameworks." As such, these components, and our guest professionals, will "help to contextualize the main developments and current transformations in archival practice in Peru."

Per usual, this event is free and open to the public; however, registration is required:
