Dr. Ambira is the current Coordinator for the ICA Africa Programme and the chairman of Kenya Association of Records Managers and Archivists (KARMA). Dr. Ambira is a practicing records management professional as well as human resource management practitioner. Besides records management work, he also works as an HR business partner with a leading financial institution in Eastern Africa. Besides training in records and archives management, he also has professional qualifications in leadership development, training skills and psychometrics. He is also a trainer on performance management, leadership development, relationship management, selling skills, competence-based interviewing (CBI), career development and facilitation skills. Dr. Ambira is also certified as a leadership trainer by Development Dimensions International (DDI), a globally renown leadership development and research organisation. He is a professional coach and mentor.
In each seminar, an international guest speaker introduces participants to the issues and advancements in their local context, describing the history, operating environment and unique aspects of archival practice in their country.
The seminar series is coordinated by Dr. James Lowry and hosted by the Graduate School of Library and Information Studies, Queens College, City University of New York.
