Join CORDA for the 2022 Business Meeting

The SAA Committee on Research, Data, and Assessment (CORDA) will be hosting our annual business meeting on Thursday, July 28th from 4:00-5:30 pm EST/3:00-4:30 pm CST/2:00-3:30 pm MST/1:00-2:30 PST.

CORDA is finishing an action-packed year and the year ahead looks to be equally ambitious.  Many of its early objectives are coming into fruition, and committee members are eager to demonstrate what we’re doing, where we’re going, and to get your feedback on how we should carry out and prioritize our work.

Here are some highlights from the meeting agenda:

  • Beginning this fall, CORDA will begin overseeing the SAA Research Forum! This is a big move that we think will be positive for CORDA and for the Forum itself, and it will give SAA members additional opportunities to participate. Forum founder and leader Nance McGovern will talk about the change and what the future of this important SAA conference mainstay could look like.

  • The SAA Dataverse has matured into a stable repository ready to preserve and manage large and small sets of data created by SAA and its members. A new YouTube playlist of tutorials will help archivists navigate, utilize and activate this important resource!

  • The reimagined Facts + Figures microsite has been populated with an initial set of informational and analytical tools to assist SAA members in their advocacy efforts and their professional work.  Come and learn what is there and what is needed to make it the most effective resource that it can be.

  • CORDA has just completed a year of work building a Research and Innovation Roadmap to help guide and prioritize archival research projects in the years ahead.  Join us to learn why it’s there and how you can help determine its shape and direction.

Join us on the 28th to learn more about these and other initiatives and to lend your voice to developing these initiatives further.
