The following guidelines offer recommendations for a range of practices and approaches to processing archival collections and managing an archival processing program. These guidelines are designed to serve as a foundation for a consistent and efficient approach to processing archival collections across Harvard University libraries. These processing guidelines do not provide prescriptive rules or standards for creating archival metatdata for/in Harvard University systems.
This processing manual is meant to serve as a reference guide to some specific adaptations of general archival theories and techniques used at MIT.

Pages on this guide provide brief introductions and links to ACM's manuals, policies, forms, templates, and other documentation that we hope will be useful both within and outside of NYU Libraries.
