Career-Focused Presentation and Agenda for Archives Management Roundtable Business Meeting, Aug. 3rd, 2016, 6:00p

The Archives Management Roundtable is proud to host an informative presentation at its upcoming meeting on Wednesday, August 3rd, at 6:00 pm:

The program will be a career-focused panel from Beth Myers of Smith College, Christina Zamon of Emerson College, and Steven Booth of the National Archives. To open, Beth will share about salary negotiations, then Christina will speak about hiring, and finally, Steven will discuss career planning in general. After 20-30 minutes of quick highlights, the floor will be opened to questions and discussion.

Following the program, there will be a brief business meeting for the Archives Management Roundtable. The agenda will include:

  • Introduction of new members to the steering committee

  • Report on recent steering committee activity

  • An announcement from the SAA-ACRL/RBMS Joint Task Force on the Development of Standardized Statistical Measures for Public Services in Archival Repositories and Special Collections Libraries regarding comments sought on version 1 of a draft standard open for comment. 

  • Information sharing about an SAA certificate in archival administration that will be developed

  • Any issues raised from the floor
