Information architecture can be seen as four interrelated architectural views, namely information architecture, business architecture, application architecture and technology architecture [citing Finnerman]. This view is based on the Zachman framework. An architectural approach provides operational definitions as a part of its common business terminology and therefore facilitates common business rules enforcement mechanisms [citing Finnerman]. Business architecture provides a start for business process redefinition and improvement, as it requires defined business process models.
