This class will address management of various components of library/archive/museum preservation topics such as:

Preservation policy
Needs assessments
Emergency planning
Budgeting
Fundraising

Class members will work in pairs to perform a needs assessment of a collection held in a local library, museum or archive. This assessment will also cover general preservation programs in the institution, such as reformatting, emergency planning, and staff and user education. Class members will also work in pairs to write a grant application for their institution to fund a project suggested by their condition analysis.
