Archival theory, methodology, and practice; optional 50 - hour practicum. Course focuses on access to archival resources in public, private, and government archival repositories, libraries, and institutions. Discussion of user needs and the democratization of access to historical records; problematic access; outreach methodologies; photoprints and other special collections; the automated archival access environment. Discussion also of professional, legal, and ethical issues and behaviors.
